We
have now been doing our outdoor
screening series for two years, with the
goal of sharing some great movies and
bringing the community together to watch
and share the culture of film as art.
In
that two-year-period, more than 10,000
people have enjoyed these free,
community screenings on Main Street and
at the Huntington Beach Pier.
One
of the most frequent questions asked at
these screenings is, "Who puts this
on? Who pays for this?" Well,
in all honesty, the answer is, I do! I
am the Event Director / Founder /
Huntington Beach Resident. I am a
full-time English teacher who has also
been involved in the entertainment
industry for 20 years now. I have
a love for filmmaking, writing, the
process making the art of and, of
course, the sharing of the art.
So
far, these have been heavily attended,
but not heavily sponsored events,
costing anywhere from $2,500 - $5,000
per screening. Any help is truly
appreciated. Additionally, in
2010, a portion of all contributions go
to our Shared Vision Campaign in support
of the Glaucoma Foundation.
If
you are interested in getting involved
as a sponsor, contact
us
here.
If you might be interested in becoming a
community benefactor,
you can do so
here.
Thank you, and we look forward to a
great outdoor screening series in 2010. |
